Background:
The City of Sunrise, Utilities Department requires the services of qualified contractors to provide crane services to the City, on an as needed basis. An example of a current need for these services is lifting and moving several motors that are being replaced at both the Springtree Water Treatment Plant and the Sawgrass Water Treatment Plant.
To secure a mechanism to procure these services on an as-needed hourly rate basis, the Purchasing Office advertised Bid No. 26-64-04-MF, Crane Services on May 8, 2026. Two responsive and responsible bidders submitted proposals. The Utilities Department and Purchasing Office staff have evaluated the responses and recommend awarding to both vendors: Aerial Precast Concrete, LLC as the Primary Contractor and Maxim Crane Works, L.P. as the Secondary Contractor.
It is the intent of the City to place orders with the Primary Contractor for the desired service. However, the City may place orders with the Secondary Contractor, in cases of immediate need, scheduling conflicts, performance issues, or if product availability is affected.
The initial contract term is two years, commencing on the date of award. The City reserves the right to renew the contract for up to two additional one year periods, provided that all terms, conditions, and specifications remain unchanged, both parties agree to the renewal, and the City approves the extension, contingent upon budget approval.
Reference checks for both firms were favorable and confirmed satisfactory performance on similar projects. The City did not receive any responses from a City of Sunrise vendor that could provide this service.
