A Resolution of the City of Sunrise, Florida relating to the Parking Garages Assessment Area and Adopting the Annual Rate Resolution for Fiscal Year 2026/2027; approving the Assessment Roll; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date.  City Manager Mark Lubelski.  Susan Nabors, Director of Finance and Administrative Services. 

On December 8, 2015, Resolution 15-195 was adopted allowing for the Uniform Method of Collecting Non-Ad Valorem Assessments within the Parking Garages Assessment Area commencing with Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2016 and continuing thereafter until discontinued by the City. The City has imposed non-ad valorem special assessments on certain properties located within the "Parking Garages Assessment Area" of the City in order to pay the debt service, including principal and interest, on bonds issued to finance the cost of two parking garages and related capital improvements.  All properties in the assessment area are commercial properties within the Sawgrass Mills mall site. 

The assessment resolution establishes the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 rates to pay principal and interest for bonds issued in 2015 and approves the assessment roll.  

It is recommended that the City Commission approve the resolution to establish the rates for the Parking Garage Assessment.
