A Resolution of the City of Sunrise, Florida, relating to the provision of Fire Rescue Services, Facilities and Programs in the City of Sunrise, Florida; reimposing Fire Rescue Assessments against Assessed property located within the City of Sunrise for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2026; approving the Rate of Assessment; approving the Assessment Roll; and providing an effective date.  City Manager Mark Lubelski.  Susan Nabors, Director of Finance and Administrative Services.

The preliminary assessment resolution for fire rescue rates for Fiscal Year 2026/2027 was approved by the City Commission on July 14, 2026 and maintains the rates the same as last year at $309.50. 

At the public hearing on September 14, 2026, the City Commission will consider the adoption of a final assessment resolution that confirms the assessment. The preliminary rate set by the City Commission is $309.50 per year or $25.79 per month, per residential dwelling unit, which is well below the current average residential Fire Rescue Assessment rate in Broward County of $391.38.  Commercial and other non-residential property rates will also remain the same as the last year.

It is requested that the City Commission approve the City of Sunrise Fire Assessment rates for FY 2026/2027.
