Background:
The Bridges at Springtree Golf Club features a 7,000 square foot Clubhouse as the centerpiece of its executive golf course. The Clubhouse includes a central lobby entrance, modern pro shop, and a 120-seat dining area that overlooks the Golf course's 18th green, making it a popular destination for the community to gather to enjoy dinner or host special events in the space. Over the years, continuous use and heavy foot traffic have caused significant deterioration to the existing wood floors, which are beyond repair. Additionally, the existing carpet shows significant wear and replacement is necessary at this time.
The Leisure Services Department has allocated funds in the FY 2026 Budget for the replacement of flooring throughout the Clubhouse. The proposed improvements include installation of durable luxury vinyl tile flooring designed to withstand heavy daily use, providing a surface that is easier to clean and sanitize, while enhancing the overall appearance of the Clubhouse with a fresher, more modern aesthetic. This flooring has been requested and approved by the Springtree Golf Club Management Team.
Approval is requested to award Cooperative Agreement No. 26-21-04-MM utilizing the Sourcewell Contract No. 061323-MCD for the purchase of Flooring Materials with Related Supplies and Services awarded to Mohawk Carpet Distribution, LLC (Mohawk), in an amount not to exceed budgeted funds for FY 2026. Subsequent years’ expenditures subject to budget approval. Mohawk recently completed the City's Signature Sunrise ballroom flooring under the Sourcewell contract and City staff is satisfied with their work.
The approval of this Cooperative Agreement will provide authority to procure goods and services related to the Bridges at Springtree Golf Club flooring installation, along with the replacement of other City facility areas, as required by the Leisure Services Department, within budgeted funds. The contract offers a discounted price for a variety of flooring products and related services. The price proposals submitted by Mohawk fall within the Leisure Services Department’s anticipated expenditure for this purchase and include all materials, adhesives, demo, disposal of existing flooring, freight and installation of new flooring. Since the purchase will be made using an existing governmental contract, it is requested to waive the City's formal bidding procedures pursuant to Section 5-173(c)(4) of the Code of the City of Sunrise, Florida.
