Background:
The City requires a method to procure furniture, Citywide, on an as-needed basis. In 2021, RFP No. 21-01-12-LZ for City Hall Furniture was solicited for the purpose furnishing the new City Hall, and via Resolution No. 21-135, the City Commission awarded a Contract to OneCBI, LLC. The City now requires modifications, additions, and new furniture requests.
To maintain consistency with existing furnishings and streamline future acquisitions, City staff identified a State of Florida cooperative purchasing contract as the most advantageous procurement method. Through a competitive solicitation conducted by the lead agency under New York State Contract No. 23295, and the State of Florida’s Participating Addendum No. 56120000-24-NY-ACS, multiple manufacturers were awarded contracts for furniture of all types through the authorized reseller, OneCBI, LLC. The Master Contract became effective December 5, 2023, and its term currently ends on December 1, 2028. The Master Contract has up to five years of renewals available. This contract includes manufacturers currently utilized by the City, such as Global Industries, Inc. and MillerKnoll, Inc.
Following a comprehensive evaluation of available options, the Utilities Department has determined that acquiring furniture from OneCBI, LLC is the most suitable solution. OneCBI, LLC will be able to provide furniture that matches existing. Prior installation work completed by OneCBI, LLC for the City was favorable, with the work being completed on time and within budget.
City Commission approval is requested to enter into Cooperative Agreement No. 26-20-03-HR between the City of Sunrise and OneCBI, LLC for furniture purchases, as needed.
Since these purchases will be made using an existing governmental contract, the City's formal bidding procedures are waived pursuant to Section 5-173(c)(4) of the Code of the City of Sunrise, Florida.
