Background:

This is a settlement related to a City workers' compensation claim. The Claimant sustained compensable on-the-job injury on April 1, 2013 (claim# 565776). Staff and the City's workers' compensation counsel are recommending the City Commission approve a workers’ compensation settlement in the amount of forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00) to be paid to claimant to settle all liabilities and verified claims, plus actual claim adjustment expenses agreed to by the City in an amount not to exceed three thousand dollars ($3,000), including but not limited to all claims for any past and future medical expenses, all lost wages, all claimant's attorney's fees, and all lien and release costs related to Claim No. 565776.

 

Staff recommend the City Commission approve the settlement and authorize the City's workers' compensation counsel and Risk Manager are authorized to finalize and execute all related documents for this settlement.
