Background:

This is the City of Sunrise's 38th recognition as a Tree City USA Community by the National Arbor Day Foundation. The City of Sunrise has continued increasing its commitment of resources for urban forestry by implementing several innovative programs and projects and was also awarded the Tree USA Growth Award by the Arbor Day Foundation, demonstrating the City's commitment to developing and preserving its urban forest.

 

An invitation is extended to the public to attend Sunrise's official Arbor Day tree planting ceremony at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Sunrise Amphitheater, 10610 W Oakland Park Boulevard during the City's Annual Earth Day event.
