Throughout the history of our country, law enforcement officers have played an essential role in safeguarding the lives and liberties of the citizens of this country and have aided in providing a safe and secure environment in the community and the schools. School Resource Officers (SROs) are a part of the integrated educational team which protects, guides and molds our most precious gifts – our children.
Mayor Ryan, along with the City Commission and the Police Department would like to recognize the City of Sunrise School Resource Officers. We encourage all residents to reflect upon and observe law enforcement officers, past and present, who by their loyal devotion to their responsibilities have established themselves as preservers of the rights and safety of students, teachers, staff and residents, and especially to remember those officers who serve as School Resource Officers throughout the City of Sunrise.
