The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is providing financial assistance to the Miami urban area through the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) 2018 Grant Program. The City of Sunrise has been included in the Miami 2018 UASI Grant Program for funding towards public safety equipment and supplies. The UASI program assists participating agencies in the funding for terrorism prevention, planning, organization, training and equipment.

The 2018 UASI Exhibit 1-Sub-grant document is available at the Police Department and has been reviewed and approved by all necessary parties.  

Staff is requesting that the City Commission approve the MOU and acceptance of the UASI 2018 grant award.
