Background:

The Fire Chief has reviewed the nomination for Firefighter of the Month and determined that Rescue Lieutenant Augustin Fernandez-Isla and Firefighter-Paramedics Edward Twist, Kyle McCaghren and Edgar Mendez should receive the Firefighter of the Month Award for the month for August 2026.

 

They are being recognized as Firefighter of the Month for providing exceptional patient care while efficiently coordinating their efforts to sure the safety of both the mother and her yet-to-be-born child. The winning nomination is attached.
