Background:

This agenda item is for the Annual Review of the Fire Chief. Chief McNamara is currently at the top of his pay range.

Excerpt from the Employment Contract:

Section 5.2  Performance Review.  The City Commission may meet to review and evaluate the performance of the Employee by July 30th of each year or with 60 days thereof, beginning after the Employee has completed one year as Fire Chief.

 

Section 5.3 Merit.  In any given year in which the Employee receives a favorable performance review, the Commission may approve a merit increase, within Employee’s pay range, of one (1) pay step retroactive to Employee’s anniversary date which for purposes of a merit increase shall be the Effective Date of this Agreement.
