| Background:
The City has received a request from The Arena Operating Company, LTD for permission to hold up to eight additional special events in calendar year 2026 at the Amerant Bank Arena located at 1 Panther Parkway, Sunrise, Florida. The Arena Operating Company, LTD has stated the demand for private special events has grown significantly, especially with the success of the Florida Panthers and the expansion of live entertainment programming, bringing more guests to the Amerant Bank Arena and the City of Sunrise.
In accordance with Section 16-280(c) of the City Code, Commission approval is needed to hold more than six (6) events at any location per calendar year. This resolution permits the property at 1 Panther Parkway to have up to a total of 14 events in calendar year 2026. |
