Background:

City Commission Discussion and/or Action Regarding the Potential Closure of Bair Middle School.  Agenda Item requested by Assistant Deputy Mayor Latoya S. Clarke.

 

The City has been notified that the Superintendent, Dr. Howard Hepburn, of the Broward County Public Schools has formally recommended to the Broward County Public School Board to consolidate Bair Middle School into Westpine Middle School and transition the Bair Middle School campus for another District use effective with the 2026-2027 school year. 

 

Final rulemaking for the recommendations made by the Superintendent will take place at the Regular School Board Meeting on January 21, 2026.
