Background:

On September 27th, 2011, the City of Sunrise had its first ever swearing-in ceremony for student governments. 

 

This program was designed to celebrate and inspire public service and community participation among our youth and the next generation of leaders.  The City of Sunrise has eleven public schools - eight elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school along with two private schools - All Saints Catholic School and Salah Tawfik. The City of Sunrise also recognizes Franklin Academy (Charter School), Plantation High School and Western High School, where many Sunrise students attend.
