The City of Sunrise requires a qualified Contractor to furnish all maintenance, inspection and monitoring services for citywide fire protection services. The City maintains various locations that require periodic services to ensure safety, compliance, and system functionality. 

The City issued Bid No. 24-75-06-WL and posted it on Demandstar and broadcast to fifty-three (53) vendors registered under the corresponding commodity codes. The bid opened on May 22, 2025, and five (5) bids were received.  Following the evaluation by the Purchasing Office, Utilities Department, and Fire Rescue Department, it is recommended to award the Contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Century Fire Protection-Advanced, Inc. with the optional renewal periods.

Previously known as Advanced Fire and Security, Inc., the City has successfully utilized their services since 2018 after award of Quotation No. Q18-57-09-HR.  Although historically, the annual expenditure for services was under $25,000.00 and awarded under the Procurement Manager award authority, moving forward, it is expected that  expenditures will exceed the $25,000.00 threshold as a result of increased costs in the market and one additional location. 

The initial contract period shall commence on the date of award for an initial period of three years, with the option to renew the contract for three additional one-year periods. When comparing the lowest bid prices to the other submittals, prices are determined to be fair and reasonable. Bid 24-75-06-WL pricing offered includes all current locations requiring monitoring and services within the City.  References were favorable for the vendor’s performance on their previous contract(s) with the City and the vendor’s performance on similar contracts with other entities provided to the City.

One City of Sunrise vendor did submit a bid; however, they were not the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.  It is requested that the City Commission approve award of a contract for these services to Century Fire Protection-Advanced, Inc.
