Background:
The City of Sunrise Strategic Planning process - Imagine Sunrise 2041 - was kicked off in November 2023 with collaboration between staff and the City's consultant, SBrand Solutions. Since that time, there has been significant outreach and community and staff engagements to gather as much information and perspective as possible about the past, the present, and the future vision for the City of Sunrise.
This City Commission Visioning Session is the next step in the Strategic Planning process to build upon the stakeholder information that has already been gathered. SBrand Solutions has provided a draft Summary Report, which includes key community themes derived from the Strategic Planning engagement efforts to date. This draft summary report provides perspective from the community members and City staff that participated in the engagement through either personal interviews, surveys, community meetings, and/or focus group meetings.
The Visioning Session will be facilitated by the SBrand Solutions Facilitator, Sheryl Trent, and illustrated live on a large display by artist, Karina Branson. The initial Visioning Session included input from only community members and was held on January 26th. The resulting draft illustration is attached. At the City Commission Visioning Session, the Mayor and Commissioners will build upon what was started by the community, with the added benefit of the Summary Report information that has been gathered to date.
