Background:

Per Section 11-11 of the Code of the City of Sunrise, Florida, the City Commission appoints two (2) of the five (5) members of the Police Retirement Plan Board. 

 

Commission appointees must be legal residents of the City and current members or former City employees who are vested in the Plan. Board Member Keven Sweat recently resigned from the plan; therefore, Staff recommends that the City Commission appoint Tim McGovern, a Sunrise resident and current Sergeant with the Sunrise Police Department, as a new Board Member. Board Members serve on the Board until a successor is appointed.
