On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law by the President, which establishes the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund. The Fiscal Recovery Funds are intended to provide support to State, local, and Tribal governments in responding to the impact of COVID-19 and in their efforts to contain COVID-19 on their communities, residents, and businesses.

The City anticipates receiving funding relief from the American Rescue Plan Act in two tranches. In order to receive the direct allocation, the City of Sunrise must agree to the award terms and conditions in Exhibit A-U.S. Department of the Treasury Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund Award Terms and Conditions.

It is requested that the City Commission authorize the City Manager or designee to execute this document and any associated documents, following review and approval by the City Attorney, in order to effectuate the City receiving the anticipated relief funds.
