Background:

In accordance with Florida State Statute 932.7055(5) pertaining to Confiscation/Forfeiture Funds, law enforcement agencies are required to expend or donate no less than 25% of revenues received through confiscation and forfeiture proceedings for various community law enforcement programs. All expenditure requests from the State Confiscation/Forfeiture Fund must be made by the Chief of Police to the City Commission, the City's governing body. A written certification, verifying that the request complies with the provisions of the Confiscation/Forfeitures statute, must accompany expenditure request.

 

It is requested that the City Commission approve these donations from the Police Department State Confiscation and Forfeiture Fund (196) in the amount of $20,000.00.
